Edirol Ma7a Stereo Micro Monitors (14 Watts 1x3 In.) Edirol Desktop multimedia Monitors Recording Feature: Price! They are in the same price class as standard pc speakers (granted 5.1 pc speakers probably) and although they do not provide the same bass, its enough for recording/listening and Im sure has a flatter response! So if youre on a budget or would like something small get these! Quality: Great quality, solid build! Value: Great Value, though buy only if recording, pc speakers probably give a more discoey bassey sound. the price is the clincher for me. Desirability: nice and small, cute monitors. If you are serious about recording, these wont replace real monitors, but are a cheap solution. Sound: Impressive Sound, Decent Bass for size however I feel the bass enhancer is more of a gimmick, for any serious recording I would not use it as even though it adds more low end, it somehow sounds a bit forced, I can imagine the eq being very drastically altered near the low end. However, I think they could definitely be used for recording with this off, and a real sub connected to them if desired. They are plenty loud as well, (as long as you are not using them to monitor drums or anything!!) Ease of Use: Very customizable sound, tune to desired bass/highs just dont use the enhancer for recording! Support: DOnt know Overall: Ill use them for a while and throw them away in a few years. Edirol Ua4fx Usb Audio Interface With Midi Edirol Usb Audio Interfaces Computer Music Feature: It is the first product I ever purchased that actually came with a USB cord. I think it has good features for the price. Quality: It is well made for the price range but time will tell. Value: It is well worth the selling price. I have it for two weeks now and am over the initial learning curve and have actually finished a six song project for a client with this unit. Desirability: I dont care about looks. I care about function, durability price and the enclosed free software. This unit meets my needs. Sound: I am using this product with the SONAR LE that it came with. The soft synth sounds could be a bit better, but overall I am very pleased. Ease of Use: Easy to use once you learn your way around it. Support: I have delt with sound cards and Cakewalk for over ten years but I hit some issues with the unit and got caught in the middle as Edirol and Cakewalk each blammed the other. Edirol is fine but Cakewalks customer service is not as good as in years past. Overall: I think more inputs that could be used at the same time would be a nice add-on but that may also shoot the price way up so you have to accept the balance. Desirability: If someone tried to give me these for free, I would decline. Sound: I run a recording department for an international music company. I dont own these....I use KRK monitors. My good friend & colleague owned a pair of them. He constantly needed to repair them, and the low frequencies were basically non-existent. These are NOT professional grade at all, as previous reviews suggest (nor is any of the other gear listed in his review). These are 1 step better than computer speakers, they will not offer a realistic response at all. What you hear come out of these will be DRASTICALLY different than on a home or car stereo....Beware, dont believe the hype. Save your money. My friend ended up buying a set of KRKs and literally threw these out his window. Ease of Use: Very, very, very easy to use. My stuff takes a beating. This will hold up. Desirability: Not turned on. Sound: This is more than adaquate for live performance. I needed a a new device since new laptops have gone away from PCMCIA and this seemed to be the most cost-effective. Ease of Use: Plugn Play. I installed the drivers, plugged it into the laptop and was ready to perform. Used it the same day on the job. Much easier than my pcmcia card when I need to change volume. Support: Latencies in Sonar are nothing like they claim. I have to set them considerably higher than my pcmcia card to avoid freeze-up and audio dropout. I am hoping my new laptop (a little more horsepower) will improve this. Overall: Im hoping this will last until I need a new computer. Edirol Fa101 Firewire Audio Interface (windows And Macintosh) Edirol Firewire Audio Interfaces Computer Music Feature: It has two combo XLR/1/4" inputs in front; thats convenient. The fact that its bus-powered is great -- and though I was worried about using it this way, it works just fine. The FA-101 doesnt have a lot of gimmicky features, but the features it does have are quality. I really like the fact that this is simple, rock solid, and simply works. Quality: So far, it seems great, although Ive only had it a week! Its solid, metal, and seems very well-built. I used it for a gig without AC power and it performed like a champ. Value: For 10 in/10 out firewire, this is a steal. Its also a heck of a lot easier to cart around than an 828 (although the 828s do offer more). Desirability: Its wireless and red :-) Sound: The preamps are very clean, and everything sounds great (especially at 24/92). My only complaint is that the mic preamps are a bit quiet - I find myself usually having to crank up to highest sensitivity. Support: I have not yet dealt with Edirol, so no comment. It would have been nice if it were firewire instead of usb, but it doesnt show any latency or problems. Great effects. But my fav feature is the Room Control. Quality: Great. Value: Its a great deal for the price. Sound: With the Room Control Ive catched many things more that without proper eq dont get noticed. The audio control room realy comes very handy.
