Dean Play Jtj Playmate Jr 1/2 Size Acoustic Guitar Dean Small Acoustic Guitars Guitars, Amps, and Effects Feature: The strings that came on this guitar could not be tuned to standard tuning. I replaced with Martin Darcos and was able to tune. Quality: If the quality was good, I wouldnt be having fret buzz. Value: It was cheap, should be good for my child. If she does well, I will get her something better. Desirability: Its looks are its best feature. Sound: The neck it twisted on mine and if i fret the lower few strings below the fifth fret I get a bad buzz or sometimes a muted note. The neck doesnt seem to be adjustable so I guess the only chance of fixing this would be raising the bridge slightly. Dean Play Jt 3/4-size Acoustic Guitar (with Gig Bag) Dean Small Acoustic Guitars Guitars, Amps, and Effects Feature: Nothing really knocked my socks off when it came to features. Quality: Decent quality. DEifinitely just one to "strum around" on. Value: I wouldnt say this has a lot of value. I was dissapointed when I was forced to stop playing because I couldnt hit some of the chords. Desirability: Decent look, but the size really threw me off. Sound: Pretty good sound for such a small guitar. I was impressed. Ease of Use: Very difficult to use if you have large fingers. The action is so small, I couldnt get the pads of my fingers between the strings to play some of the more chllenging chords. Support: Very good support when I reached the company. Strings could be a little better. Craftsmanship for the price is O.K. Quality: One cosmetic blemish with mine when arrived. Probably due to shipping. Perhaps if the box was labeled "FRAGILE" when shipped, they might not toss it around the way they do. Value: For the price this is a great little starter. I was between the Rogue and this one. Desirability: Again the color scheme could be a little more creative. Sound: Sound isnt too bad. This is my first, but it seems to be O.K. Overall: I will probably be searching for better sound quality before stepping out in public. I have had my Dean for 3 weeks now and already I can tell that this is a beginner/practice piece.
