Ampeg Bass Guitar Combo Amps Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects Feature: this amp has good 3 band eq, a 5 way style switch, which is like a preset eq knob, and the it doesnt pop when you turn the switch off. it also can be tilted back which is great. Quality: made well and seems to hold up well to traveling. Value: good value for the sound Desirability: sounds great, is light, tough, and has a clean look. Sound: THis amp has a great sound for its size. the 50 watts is more than loud enough for my garrage band or practice sessions. The low end is great and the full sound of the amp is great considdering its only 40 lbs. There is a tiny bit of hiss when the trebble is high, but it isnt enough to bother me. overall a great sounding amp. Ease of Use: very self explanitory and easy to use. Ampeg Ba115 Tilt Back Bass Combo Amplifier (100 Watts 1x15 In.) Ampeg Bass Guitar Combo Amps Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects Feature: Slightly underpowered for live shows, it works best in rehersal and very small venues. But then I wouldnt really expect anything else from a combo amp, most live shows I play with seperate amp and cabs. The XLR output is very impressive for an amp as low a price as this. Ive never tried recording with it, but Id certainly be tempted to try. CD inputs are a joke and shouldnt even be on the amp. Tweater is a good inclusion but also makes the amplifier hiss more pronounced. Quality: Amp looks great from all angles. Tilt back cabinet is kinda cheesy, but keeps people from setting anything on top of it. Very heavy construction, a building could collapse on it and it would come out without a scratch. Value: Has great features for a low to mid price combo amp. Desirability: Having this set up on stage just makes you look good. Hiding all the controls and inputs on the upper rear leaves the front undisturbed for a nice clean look Sound: Sound quality is great, with widely adjustable EQ. The five position quick selector is great if you want to shift EQ between songs without much fuss, I use it switching between jazz and rock sounds. With the 15" speaker, rock is more suited to the amp, but it does include a tweeter to get nice response in the upper registers. Overall: This amp will remain my practice amp and a great backup for live shows for a very long time. I may even try recording with it in the future. Quality: This thing is built! You can feel it. Heavy case, and all the knobs, and faders are smooth as glass. Value: For the price you cant beat it. Iv been playing for over 30 years now. I have owned just about anything you can think of. I would have thought Ampeg could have sold this head for alot more than the asking price. Desirability: It has this industrial look going on.. Sound: This cab gets "nasty dirty" in a good way. I use 2 of them with a br2 head....... FREAKIN ROCKS Ease of Use: You will have a good tone in under 5 minutes of getting it out of the box. Quality: Just picking it up i said, wow this is awesome. It looks really cool too, the tolex is just sweet. I dont need a back up with this, it would sit around and collect dust forever Value: It is perfectly priced for what features you get. it is wonderful, and i am sure that i will not have anyproblems with it. Desirability: From the time i pluged in, i was hooked, there was no way i was going home without this amp. Sound: IT has amazing sound, it makes my bass sound much better than the old crate i was using. Everyone was like wow in the room when i fired it up to play. It has great use for the music i play, such as Rock, sometimes funk solos, it is perfect. Support: i havent had to talk with them, the unit works perfect, no problems ever. Quality: this is the only gripe i have about this amp. made in china. sure i havent had any quality issues, but for $650 i want american. i have looked this amp over thoroughly, and it looks solid. Value: tube preamp and 220W of ampeg tone. not bad. value should be slightly lower due to being made in china by 11 year old slave laborers Desirability: cool looking, great sounding. couldnt ask for more. except "i want it" to be made in the u.s.a Sound: sound is great, dialing in your sound is super easy no silly eq sliders or garbage like that. plenty loud, probably going to make your guitarist angry. Ease of Use: plug and play Support: havent had to use it, dont anticipate any problems, but ampeg and zzounds have great reputations for customer support. Overall: i have played comparable units from swr, fender, the ba115hpt from ampeg, line 6, and plenty of others. this thing is the best by far. the only gripe i have is made in china, but when i turn it on and crank it up i pretty much forget about that. Quality: The last reveiwer had the same problem as me - a bad buzzing coming from the cabinet every time you hit a low D. I brought it back to the dealer who couldnt fix it( I dont know how hard they tried )so they gave me another new one. The new one is fine. Sound: Great Ampeg tone! Ease of Use: Very easy to use and dial in your tone. Support: Talked with them via email about the buzzing problem and they didnt have a clue what was wrong but at least they answered me. Overall: A very good amp but the buzzing problem was a big ordeal. I would avoid this amp unless you could try it before you purchase one to make sure it doesnt buzz. But if it has to be moved, just grab the rear mounted bar, tilt it back and away you go, effortlessly! Quality: The 410HLF is a Clydesdale among Shetlands! Made to do the job. Its definitely a road worthy piece of equipment. Value: I compared this product with other cabinets (some priced higher) and this one was hands-down the best of the lot. Sound: In my honest opinion, Ampeg IS the sound of bass. Being the pioneer of bass amplification, Ampeg has the goods to deliver now and well into the future. The 410HLF has tremendous low end, growly mids and pristene highs. I am using it in conjunction with an Ampeg head and they go together sonically like a jacket and matching pants!! Ampeg Svt450h Bass Amplifier Head (450 Watts) Ampeg Bass Guitar Amp Heads Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects Feature: I am really glad it has the EQ because it sounds bad in my opinion if the amp is only used with the knobs. I like the limiter also, because my amp is always near full output. Quality: Ampeg... Value: This is not worth it. If you own an Ampeg 8x10, get something with more power. Desirability: I like how it looks on top of the speaker cabinet. Everything matches. Sound: Its not my favorite. The tone is very very very "round" which is not what Im looking for. I am able to get a decent "grind" sound by turning the mid knob all the way down and also have the mid frequencies on the EQ all the way down. Also, It isnt as loud as I thought it would be. Its only 70db at max output at 4 ohms. The bass only goes down to 40 hz. I was quite dissapointed. Ease of Use: I took me less than 5 minutes to figure out my tone Support: They were nice Overall: You also have to break it it to get that famous Ampeg "grind" tone, so be patient if you are buying a new one. The "Frequency" switch seems to make little difference in sound quality. But, Im still experimenting with various sound settings. Quality: After about 50 hours of use, I had to get a tube replaced. But, it may have been due to bumbing, as well as the one bad tube from the factory that day. Since then (about 150 hours & several months), Ive had no problems. Value: When I first got my Ampeg, I thought "This sounds great!". Everytime I play it,I hear from more & more converts saying the same. And the price has gone up on it since I bought it about a year ago. Desirability: My SVT-3 Pro head, along with my BXT-410HL-4 cabinet, give me a great, unbeatable sound. Sound: After one year I get a very clean sound with almost limitless sound quality options. Although with all of its options, you can get hiss by turning up the high frequencies too much. Best if you balance out the EQ with the guitar tones and cabinet adjustments. Support: I have not dealt with Ampeg directly, only the local retailer that sold me the equipment. And after some initial "who has the amp?" mixups, they were pretty good. Overall: This is a killer/ keeper system. Im very satisfied with it. Ampeg Bass Guitar Amp Cabinets Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects Feature: Im glad it is tolex instead of carpet because first of all, carpet just looks really tacky and cheap, and second of all, dog hair is horrible on carpetted amps. The wheels are the most useful things on this amp besides the speakers. It lets me simply and easily drag its massiveness onto stage with no cramps or hernias! The skid rails are great too. Quality: Defanitely professional. Everything is still in place after dropping numerous times out of the trailer. Value: $1400 is probably a bit too pricey for what its worth. I think 1000 is just fine. But seriousely, the tone is better than anything I have ever tried. Desirability: Um, when you touch its sexyness, the tolex is just a little sticky after hot shows in L.A. Sound: The tone is unbelievable. It is so loud it shakes you, and even at those extreme volumes, it still provides that lustrious tone ampeg is known for. The bass tones on it are unbelievable, the mids I dont ever really use, and the highs are punchy and loud. Speaking of loud, it is EXTREMELY loud! This amp can blast through both of my guitarists half stacks easily. I use a the svt450 on it and its sounds great with my fender precision with round wound strings. Ease of Use: 165lbs................ Support: I had a grand ol time chatting with one of their employees. Overall: Im glad I have this instead of hartke. Thats all I have to say. Thank you.
