Alvarez Rf8 Folk Acoustic Guitar (with Case) Alvarez 6 string Acoustic Guitars Guitars, Amps, and Effects Feature: Comes with hard solid feeling hard case and Elixir strings. Same tuners as my dreadnaught Regent. Quality: Plenty of laquer, but all is well. No chips, dings, scratches, bubbles. Value: A nice little axe in a hard case. Fun to play and pleasant sounding. Desirability: This guitar will travel, be used for writing and practice, and go to informal performances. Sound: Very pleasing. Not twangy or uncontrolled, but mellow and in tune up and down the frets. Bass is a muted, but this may be characteristic of all smaller guitars. Ease of Use: This guitar can be played and played! Maybe the Elixir strings have something to do with it, but the action seems very good right out og the box. A quality control slip seems to indicate that the set up was checked at the factory, although the strings are shipped slack. Support: No experience. Overall: Should last for years and will be used a lot. I would replace if stolen, although I will be looking at higher end folk size instruments now that I have gotten this one. Quality: Great quality through and through. Value: Mine is a lefty. They charge more for lefties so the overall value isnt that great. I find it somewhat discriminating. Desirability: Great looking guitar! Sound: For what is classified as a "student" guitar the sound is beautifully rich and the tone is fantastic. Ease of Use: Playing from the nut to the 10th fret is the easiest. Once you get any higher up the neck it becomes more difficult to play and doesnt sound as good as it should. The action and intonation were all done by a professional. Support: Havent needed any. Overall: Many years to come. I shop for things very thoroughly so I dont have to buy again. Quality: Beautiful piece of craftsmanship. Value: Like I said, this guitar is easily the best out there within its price range. Frankly, it outperforms many other more expensive guitars. Desirability: I am not a wealthy person so I did a lot of research and comparison before I bought this guitar. The Alvarez AD70S is clearly superior. Sound: Inside or outside this rosewood guitar will give you the high and low notes better than any other guitar in this price range. Count on it. Ease of Use: Outstanding. Value: PRice for performance, cant beat this one Desirability: Nothing fancy, just good at what it does. Sound: Thought I had made a good deal cost wise, but the more I played it the more I liked it especially compared to others in this range. Ease of Use: Throw it up on your leg and jam! Beautiful finish, tastefully done. Quality: Excellent construction. The tuners are still a little tight but perhaps they will loosen up with time. I have been playing for over 40 years but this is the first new guitar I have ever bought so I will wait and see about the tuners. Value: I did a lot of shopping in music stores and online before I bought this axe and you cant beat it, especially if you get one that is blemished for $160 discount. Desirability: I like simple, elegant design. This guitar fits the bill for me. If you prefer ornate or gaudy instruments, try something else. Sound: Absolutely the best sounding 12-string in this price range that I have played. Sounds better than some of the more expensive ones as well. I like the additional volume you get from a solid top and Jumbo size, too. Ease of Use: Great action, easy to play. Overall: This one is a keeper. Quality: Everything was perfect on this guitar, even used... quality control, quality product. Value: Yes, craftmanship is nice and sound is awesome Desirability: It is not busy with design, tho it is atractive. It is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Sound: I originally picked up this barely uesed guitar to sell to a friend. When I brought it home, I could not put it down. I currently own a PS90C and found the MF80C to be a beefy sound; much fuller, spunky sound than the PS90C. In all honesty, the MF80C is the nicest sounding guitar I have purchased. I also own a SP0016 Martin. The MF90C beats even its sound. It has a wonderful ring in harmonics and sounds awesome acoustically... I do not think the sound can be improved... it is simply perfect. Ease of Use: sweet action, sweet sound. Support: So far, I have not needed any services from Alvarez. Overall: I ended up giving the instrument to a good friend, so I will be looking for another like it simply because of the fabulous sound.
