Alesis M1 Active 320 Usb Active Monitors Alesis Active powered Studio Monitors Recording Feature: Light, loud, lots of connectors. Quality: Except for the (to my ears and setup) coloration in the mid-bass, I think its a good quality powered monitor. I am keeping them. Value: Cant beat the price to quality ratio. Sound: I used cool edit to generate a frequency sweep. Somewhere within 150-400 hz the audio peaked noticeably then almost dissapeared. Not very scientific, but to my ears, in an open setup with no reflections, there is a coloration around that band--mid bass has a huge peak and high bass has a trough. Low bass is good. Alesis Powertrip8 Power Conditioner Alesis Power Conditioners Accessories Feature: Looks good! I have it in a rack with a Korg DTR1000 tuner and an Aguilar DB750 bass amp. All three components have the brushed alumimum look, so you could say I have a rather color coordinated rack! The dimmer capable rack lights are very helpful, and the primary reason I wanted this unit. Honestly speaking, this power conditioner is nothing more than a glorified power strip, but it is handy. Being able to simply flip one switch and have amp and tuner come on at the same time... very convenient. Quality: Solid build, good looks and very functional... Value: Not worth a hundred bucks... but I wanted it, so I coughed-up the cash anyway... Desirability: Like I said... I wanted it, so I paid the overly inflated price for it... Ease of Use: Cant say how it could be difficult to use... Overall: Ive had mine for quite awhile now. I was also very happy with the fast & great service from zZounds -- I would purchase from zZounds again. By the way, I dont normally write reviews, but I just was so happy with the microphone (which I bought as a Christmas present for myself -- :-) ), and since it bought it based on a review, I thought Id return the favor & review it for anyone else looking to buy a microphone for podcasting. Value: Everything that tascam claims, except this one works and is fifty dollars cheaper. Desirability: I dont think that the input placement is great. Sound: This thing works. Which is good. The Tascam us-122 is a disaster with a few major flaws. Get this instead. The preamps are okay - they do get noisy when you push them, and you have to - it doesnt have the greatest gain in the world. True 48 volts phantom power. I actually measured 51 volts weighted. Does the job for 149 bucks. Overall: This will do what I want it to. Of course that means that I want more. Alesis Microverb4 Effects Processor Alesis Multieffects Processors Recording Feature: not applicable-just make it sound good Quality: I really have a thing about cheap and this kind of marketing. This is 50 dollars less than a midiverb-which is a good unit. Whats the point in saving 50 dollars when ultimately youve wasted 150 dollars buying something from a brand you trusted? (I own some several pieces of Alesis gear including two Quadraverbs and one Midiverb and I owned an original Microverb that had very nice sounding presets) Value: why waste money on something you arent going to be satisfied with? Sound: The sounds are cheap sounding. Ease of Use: I think it was a useless endeavor trying to get it set right. It was nothing you could put your finger on-I just didnt like what I was hearing and I got rid of this reverb unit. Support: How do you support cheap? They shouldnt be selling this. The people at Alesis have always been quick to respond to my questions so I dont fault them on that. Just dont put your name on cheap. Making something great-like some of their original products-for less money is what they built their reputation on. Overall: Like I said, I took a loss on this-I actually bought two at the same time strictly on my good experiences with Alesis in the past. Alesis Multimix 8 Usb Mixer With Usb Audio Alesis Stereo Mixers Recording Value: If you want to see if you can accomplish recording then this unit will do on a tight budget. But if you have the money to spend buy a seperate mixer and a audio capture device. Sound: The sound recorded by the unit and sent to the computer is decent, there is a high pitched hum when I connect the board to the Audio recording software. I tried a Windows Xp machine and an iBook, different USB cables and different aaudio recording softwrae. I sent the unit in under warratny and they replaced the whole board and it still had the hum. Alesis M1 Active 520 2-way Near Field Monitor (75 Watts) Alesis Active powered Studio Monitors Recording Feature: The light on the top reminds me to turn it off when I turn off my computer. Since this is shielded, I keep it right next to my CRT monitor, and no noise or interference. Quality: Great for home speaker. This thing is quite heavy, nothing like M-Audio which are light and plasticy. Value: A++++ Desirability: Cool looks with black and white design. Sound: It sounds really good.The bass is great since I can adjust to my room and its right against the wall, its more than I need. The high are great and so are the mids. Ease of Use: You have to turn on/off few switches to adjust to your room, which is great for people like me with no acoustic design in the room.
