Similar to the M177 except with an adjustable Polar Pattern, the M179 features a dual-sided, externally-biased capsule with a gold sputtered 1.1 in. diaphragm. The M179 has a high-speed, low-noise operational amplifier, coupled with a new discrete high-efficiency power supply circuit. This results in incredibly low noise, low distortion and fast transient response. The M179 will even work with 24-volt phantom power supplies! The M179 also features a non-capacitive 20 dB pad switch and an 80 Hz high-pass filter.
Feature:
Vast array of polar patterns to choose from, bass roll-off that works, and a -20dB pad for high SPL work. Ill forgive the fact a spider support is not included. Get one.
Quality:
Heavy. Feels solid. Built like a British Challenger tank. Except its a bit smaller. And less lethal. Youre not a target for friendly fire either.

Cad Kbm412 Low Frequency Large Cardioid Microphone Cad Dynamic Instrument Microphones Recording Feature: Its a kick mic so I dont know what you want from it. It plugs in and you get sound. Quality: Ive used this for a lot of live gigs and its still kicking. Value: I dont think that any of the other kick mics in this range sound as good. Can you find better, yes but it will cost more. Desirability: Who wants cheap mics? If you have this mic its because of the price Sound: Sounds great for the price. Of course a D112 sounds better but for $50 you wont beat it.
