Marshall Avt50hx Guitar Amplifier Head (50 Watts)
Marshall
Guitar Amp Heads
Guitars, Amps, and Effects
The AVT50HX is the head version of the AVT50X combo and is armed with the exact same killer features and tones. When driving the purpose-built AVT412XA (angled), and AVT412XB (straight) Celestion-loaded 4 x 12 in. cabinets, it delivers the extra depth and sheer tonal weight which only a Marshall stack or half stack is capable of!
Feature:
Decent enough. Two footswitchable channels gives the minimum flexability required to work with the amp. The efects loop is solid and provides a good routing option. Also, It is nice to have a headphone feature on a 50w head.
Quality:
Typical marshall build. Particle board head and cab with standard black tolex. Ive never had to worry about getting to a gig and it not working. Verry solid, just seems a bit cheaply made.
Value:
I wish I had bought a tube combo. I was a little preocupied with, "I need a half stack."
Desirability:
Its a marshall, It looks cool.
Sound:
Better than a lot of cheap solid state amps, but lacks the warmth of real tubes. The single tube is only in the drive channel, so the clean channel sounds just like the MG series.
Ease of Use:
Its an amp. You turn it on, and turn it up.
Support:
N.A.
Overall:
Its an OK amp that will have to get me by until I can afford something better. It works OK live, but I never use it in the studio.

Marshall Mg412a Angled Guitar Speaker Cabinet (120 Watts 4x12 In.) Marshall Guitar Amp Cabinets Guitars, Amps, and Effects Feature: It is a cabinet , it isnt supossed to bring you coffee, but I have added castors to mine just so it doesnt have to be carried everywhere it goes. Quality: It seems well built for being as light as it is for a 412 cabinet. I personally like the all black (except for the Marshall logo across the front) Value: I think this cabinet is a very good value at under $300. Desirability: I will add another to my half-stack by going with a mg412a straght front for the bottom of the stack. Sound: I find for the price it has a good consistant tone to it, very neutral. It reproduces what you send to it very well. Ease of Use: Plug and play. Support: I havent had any problems with this product to have needed to use thier support but Marshall has been around forever I am sure they must have good support or with as many options are out there they wouldnt still be. Overall: This cabinet has served well, I do believe lost or stolen it would be replaced with same, however there is a slight possiblity that i might go with a Beringer in the event of this one missing.
