Hofner
4 string Electric Bass Guitars
Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects
The Hofner HCT5001 is the contemporary series version of the famous Beatle Bass by Hofner, upgraded from the Icon series. The CT Series is an almost exact copy in the true sense of the word, its hard tell it apart, side by side, with the German made instrument. Features include a sustain block inside the body that makes for a modern deep resonating bass with superior sustain. Comes with the original H??fner (German made) Staple-Top pick-ups, Zero Fret, Binding, Parchment tinted pickguard and control panel.
Quality:
Superior.
Value:
A great value. marvelous.
Desirability:
A very sexy looking instrument. However, I only purchaed it because of its sound, quality and value. Yeah, sure.
Sound:
My new HCT5001 is a very well made bass. I own a reissue (2001) 1962 German made Hofner. I have the two side- by-side for comparison. The fit and finish of the HCT5001 is superior to the German made Hofner. The HCT5001 is more resonate than the german made Hofner. This is neither better nor worse. Just different. The HCT5001 intonates more accurately in the upper register than the German made Hofner. For Hofner purist who want the attack and decay characteristics of the German Hofner, the HCT5001 will produce far too many high harmonics. But, a lot of this can be EQed out. The result is a sound much like a German Hofner, with more sustain. Another solution is to use RotoSound RS88S strings, rather than the Pyramid flatwound strings. RotoSound RS 88S strings are tapewound, and produce far fewer upper harmonic partials than are present in the Pyramid sound. Note that the string grooves in the (HCT5001) nut will have to be enlarged to allow the RS 88S strings to seat properly. Careful! The HCT5001 nut is plasic, and cuts easily. The RotoSound strings make the HCT5001 almost identical in sound to the German Hofner.
Overall:
I will keep it for the rest of my life.

Hofner Icon B Electric Bass Hofner 4 string Electric Bass Guitars Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects Feature: The bass came with a wrench and a cord but no paperwork about the guitar at all. Quality: I was very pleased when I unwrapped it and found such a well made quality bass. The finish was beautiful, above expectations. The nut backed off on the jack but an easy repair. Value: The price of the bass was comparable to others, but I felt it was a better product for the money. Desirability: Anybody who knows of Paul McCartney will recognize this bass right away and find it very appealing to the eye. Sound: The sound of the Hofner is very full and throaty,a great hollowbody sound. I play it through a 30w amp and it sounds terrific. Very warm and Beatley. The bass also has great natural sustain. Play with a pick or without you wont be dissapointed. Ease of Use: the bass is comfortable to play and the controls take a minute to get used to, but fairly easy. Overall: I plan on keeping this bass in my collection for a long time, its a staple for Beatle music. Listing Price :$499.99 Shipping fee :$0 Review this product |

Hofner Hardshell Case For Icon B Bass Guitar Hofner Bass Guitar Cases Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects Feature: Great plush lining, solid fit. This case WILL, Snugly, fit the Rogue violin bass (which I think is a rebranded Epihone 2nd). Quality: I understand this is actually the BEST violin bass case made, period...better than Hofners own vintage case for their high-end pieces. Value: This is cheaper than the big rectangular epiphone case, which would be the alternative. I have to think this is more secure than that case, even if there isnt room for sheet music. There is room for straps and maybe strings. Desirability: I would have sent it back if I didnt want it. Sound: Doesnt rattle Listing Price :$89.99 Shipping fee :$4.99 Review this product |
