If the finish bothers you, use some fine grit sandpaper, and some good tung oil to smooth it out and condiiton the wood. Acutally the kill switch is a great idea, they probally did this because many musicians use the kill switch to add another dimesion when using there effects and lead work now. I find the guitar raw, powerful, and in your face, and probally youll see many of these popping up online for $800.00 which would be a steal compared to gibsons so called sg special which is bsically a cheap epiphone with decent pickups.
