The 2-pickup Les Paul Special was introduced in 1955 as an intermediate model, positioned between the low-cost Les Paul Junior and the Les Paul Model. Originally available only in a single cutaway, the TV-style limed Mahogany finish, the Special was changed in 1959 to a double cutaway model and a Cherry Red finish was added to the mix. Now part of Gibsons proprietary new Vintage Original Spec series -- the next step in our journey toward perfection.

Gibson Les Paul Bfg Electric Guitar (with Case) Gibson 6 string Electric Guitars Guitars, Amps, and Effects Sound: Look there is nothing wrong with the appearence of this guitar, I actually find it rather new and different than a boring old les paul. If the finish bothers you, use some fine grit sandpaper, and some good tung oil to smooth it out and condiiton the wood. Acutally the kill switch is a great idea, they probally did this because many musicians use the kill switch to add another dimesion when using there effects and lead work now. I find the guitar raw, powerful, and in your face, and probally youll see many of these popping up online for $800.00 which would be a steal compared to gibsons so called sg special which is bsically a cheap epiphone with decent pickups.
