AudioFire2 offers an extremely small FireWire audio solution. No product this small comes packed with as many features as the AudioFire2. Fully balanced input and output, separately addressable headphone output, S/PDIF I/O and MIDI I/O are all included in this 3.5 in. by 4.25 in. interface.
Feature:
This box is a substitute for my now obsolete Echo io pcmcia card that doesnt fit into the new mac books. I use as a gigging converter, its small size is unmatched by anything else out there. Its got a separate headphone mix allowing you to cue...this something my old Echo io didnt have...it all works quite well.
Quality:
Well built, tough aluminum case.
Value:
I think it would be a most awesome deal if it were priced about 20% lower but since its the smallest feature-packed unit out there I had to buy this one.
Desirability:
Well...its just a box.
Sound:
Excellent quality DAC, quite clean. The headphone output can really drive my cans.
Ease of Use:
brainless setup for macs.
Support:
This thing has been rock-solid so far same went for my Echo io card. Echos been around awhile and has had plenty of time to get it right.
Overall:
This box offers good quality converters in a tiny form factor. Really best for gigging setups where you can stuff your whole rig into a backpack.

Comes with Mackie Tracktion, a brilliant piece of SW Quality: All in all: very good. Sturdy feel to it. Heres the flaw: The line I/O. Theyre physically placed to close to each other (problem if you use pro jacks), and theyre of the typical consumer type with no washer restraints. In a permanent installation, this isnt an issue, though. There is room for improvement with the headset out as well, one should be able to switch whether to monitor ch. 1+2 or 3+4 in a recording situation, or at least ch. 1+2 should be muted if the headset is connected. Value: Awesome hardware at a ridiculous cost. Desirability: Its good looking IMHO... the jack-thing is a bit of a turnoff, tho... Sound: Very smooth indeed! On all accounts. Plug and Play. Good converters. Good for vocals, guitars, bass... Ive used it in several settings with no problems. Ease of Use: Plug and Play. Support: Support via email. Fast and helpfull. Echo Layla 3g 8-channel Pci Audio Interface Echo Pci Audio Interfaces Computer Music Feature: Came with Tracktion v1 which is ASIO but I use it with Adobe Audition which uses WDM drivers but the Layla 3G works with both systems. Very Versatile Quality: The Layla 3G is a sturdy aluminium case style box and very nice looking but the front knobs are a bit slippy. Maybe a little knarling might help grip Value: For what this unit does, I think it would be hard to get the quality and versatility for the price paid for it. Sound: The recorded sound quality is absolutely pristine. Even using a Shure SM58 it picks up everything just like a condenser and distorted guitars through a 10 year old Zoom 9030 is clean. Support: So far havent needed support in 3 months Overall: I would say if I need to replace this product for what I need it for within 5 years its because I won the lottery or it got broke by the kids. Echo Gina 3g Pci Audio Interface Echo Pci Audio Interfaces Computer Music Feature: Nice internal mic preamps, phantom power, headphones and powered off the PCI bus. Cable clutter is now minimal. Quality: Very well made. Sturdy metal case. Heavy, shielded cable. Trim and headphone pots feel heavy duty. Value: A tad pricy for my tastes but its offset by the features and sound. Sound: Very clean sound with lots of headroom on input. I was using a 20-bit Layla and it definitely sounds better. Cleaner and hotter. Support: Excellent staff at Echo. Echo Mia Midi Pc Digital Audio Interface Echo Pci Audio Interfaces Computer Music Feature: No, it does not include features that I dont want. For my setup it is ideal. No nonsense. Quality: The quality seems first class. Value: You cannot beat the value. Sound: Any imperfection of this card may have is completely inaudible. You cannot beat the quality for the price. I connect to my MIA with a Behringer UB2442FX mixer and my recordings all sound perfectly professional. Ease of Use: After setup, you can pretty much forget about it.
