The MasterLink ML-9600 combines hard disk recording, editing, digital signal processing, and the worlds most advanced high-resolution CD-R format for creating professional, fully finished 2-track masters.
Feature:
The ability to mix and burn a CD right then is a major factor with me. And while I rarely use the mastering features, I prefer to send a finished mix out to a fresh set of ears with mastering specific equipment, for demos itll do the trick.
Quality:
Arrived flawless and in 2 years of studio work it has never failed.
Value:
The combo or price, quality and features make this a lot of bang for the buk!
Desirability:
I dont know if its sexy, Im more into the practical applications. Its a piece of rack gear.
Sound:
Clean, clear digital sound. If youre okay with with digital this is as good as it gets.
Support:
Ive never had a problem. No news is good news...
Overall:
The ability to mix, burn a CD and immediately listen to exactly the same sound that the mastering engineer will hear on a variety of sources - Monitors, home stereo, car, boom box... - has changed the way I mix. I always hated cassettes...

Alesis M1 Active 520 2-way Near Field Monitor (75 Watts) Alesis Active powered Studio Monitors Recording Feature: The light on the top reminds me to turn it off when I turn off my computer. Since this is shielded, I keep it right next to my CRT monitor, and no noise or interference. Quality: Great for home speaker. This thing is quite heavy, nothing like M-Audio which are light and plasticy. Value: A++++ Desirability: Cool looks with black and white design. Sound: It sounds really good.The bass is great since I can adjust to my room and its right against the wall, its more than I need. The high are great and so are the mids. Ease of Use: You have to turn on/off few switches to adjust to your room, which is great for people like me with no acoustic design in the room. The ethernet port comes in real handy for those wanting to edit on their PC or Mac. Quality: I have been able to depend on this machine to not break down and perform great every time. Value: Price could always be lower but if you can find a good dealer willing to come down a little bit then it makes it a great find. Desirability: She is a sexy beast sitting next to your console with the lights off and the gauges jumping. Sound: Sounds great Support: I havent had to call support yet so Im not sure how their service rates. Overall: This works great for any situation. Ive mostly used it for live recording of a band I mix for. I use it every week and it has been very stable and definitely worth the money. I havent had the chance yet to use the ftp capablities, but I really look forward to try that out sometime. I even thought about getting the firewire add on so that I can transfer files via firewire.
