The DM5 Electronic Drum Kit is a fully self-contained 4-piece electronic drum set that ships with the DM5 sound module, 5 responsive playing pads (1 which serves as the hihat in conjunction with an included foot controller), 2 natural motion cymbal pads, a kick pedal, tubular support rack, and all essential interconnection cables.
Feature:
No aux input to play along but it does have many inputs for extra pads.
Quality:
The brain seems reliable and the pads seem just OK, but the rack feels cheesy.
Value:
The value compared to other ekits is OK, but judged on its own its not worth the price. As long as we keep paying too much for ekits, we can expect gouging. It should have metal clamps, another pad, an aux input, a WAY better foot pedal and less 150-200 in cost.
Desirability:
I wouldnt have one.
Sound:
Just better than the clak of a practice pad.
Ease of Use:
Its no more difficult than any other edrum brain I know of.
Support:
No experience.
Overall:
This is not an inspiring product.

Alesis M1 Active 520 2-way Near Field Monitor (75 Watts) Alesis Active powered Studio Monitors Recording Feature: The light on the top reminds me to turn it off when I turn off my computer. Since this is shielded, I keep it right next to my CRT monitor, and no noise or interference. Quality: Great for home speaker. This thing is quite heavy, nothing like M-Audio which are light and plasticy. Value: A++++ Desirability: Cool looks with black and white design. Sound: It sounds really good.The bass is great since I can adjust to my room and its right against the wall, its more than I need. The high are great and so are the mids. Ease of Use: You have to turn on/off few switches to adjust to your room, which is great for people like me with no acoustic design in the room. Alesis M1 Active 320 Usb Active Monitors Alesis Active powered Studio Monitors Recording Feature: Light, loud, lots of connectors. Quality: Except for the (to my ears and setup) coloration in the mid-bass, I think its a good quality powered monitor. I am keeping them. Value: Cant beat the price to quality ratio. Sound: I used cool edit to generate a frequency sweep. Somewhere within 150-400 hz the audio peaked noticeably then almost dissapeared. Not very scientific, but to my ears, in an open setup with no reflections, there is a coloration around that band--mid bass has a huge peak and high bass has a trough. Low bass is good.
